The next Who’s In Charge workshop is scheduled for Tuesday 3 November 2020 from 10 am to 1pm through Microsoft Teams. Although the workshop is virtual, it will be most helpful for parents to have a private space/room separate from their other commitments (such as work, parenting and home schooling) to engage well and get the most out of the workshop without little ears listening in.
This workshop will explore the reasons why children who have experienced early neglect and trauma often seek to have tight control over their environment and their relationships. We will think about what it feels like to be on the receiving end of controlling behaviour and how it affects family relationships.
We will look at strategies to manage controlling behaviour and ways to avoid the everyday battles over who’s in charge. We will also show some Theraplay activities that can be helpful to include into everyday play to support your child.
Please note that this workshop is aimed at families with children 12 and under.
